12-Day Meditation Retreats in Phuket
Two complementary retreats, combined into
one continuous journey of meditation and practice.
Step away from everyday life for twelve days of meditation, reflection and genuine rest in Phuket. The 12-day retreat brings together our Presence and Clarity programs, giving you more time to settle, deepen your practice and let the experience unfold naturally.
The retreat begins with five days of Presence, focused on quieting thought, letting go deeply and learning to rest in natural presence. After an integration weekend, the journey continues with five days of Clarity, cultivating steady attention, inner peace and clearer awareness.
Both retreats are complete programs in their own right. Experienced together, they offer a spacious balance of practice, rest and integration. Groups remain small, usually 10 to 15 participants, with personal guidance throughout.
Two Retreats, One Continuous Journey
Presence → Integration Weekend → Clarity
Presence
Begin by settling deeply, releasing mental effort and becoming more at ease with stillness and presence.
Clarity
Steady attention, open awareness and learn to meet experience with greater clarity and balance.
Experience both retreats together, with an integration weekend in between.

MEDITATION & TEACHINGS
How the Practice Unfolds
Across twelve days, the retreat unfolds in two parts, with a self-guided integration weekend in between. The first retreat emphasizes settling, letting go and resting more naturally, while the second develops steadier attention, clear awareness and a more direct relationship with experience.
Settle
First 5-Day Retreat
Quiet mental effort, release unnecessary tension and learn to rest more naturally in stillness and presence.
Integrate
Self-Guided Weekend
Practice with less structure, follow your own pace and discover how the teachings work when you are guiding yourself.
Clarify
Second 5-Day Retreat
Return with fresh energy, steady attention and explore experience with greater clarity, balance and openness.
Shared Foundations
Both 5-day retreats draw on the same contemplative foundations. The first emphasizes settling, letting go and resting more naturally, while the second develops steadier attention and clearer awareness. Tobi’s background is primarily in Tibetan Buddhist meditation, particularly the Gelug and Nyingma traditions, with additional influence from the Thai Forest tradition.
The 12-day format gives the practice more room to unfold through guided retreat, a self-guided integration weekend and a return to structured practice. This helps the teachings become more independent, practical and personally grounded.
No belief required. The retreat is practical in presentation and welcomes both beginners and experienced meditators.
TEACHER & BACKGROUND
Meet Tobi
Tobi Warzinek has been immersed in contemplative practice since 2002. At 18, he entered the Tibetan Buddhist monastery of Rabten Choeling, where he spent around seven years studying Tibetan language, Buddhist philosophy, mind training, debate and meditation.
After moving to Thailand in 2011, his practice became increasingly influenced by the direct and practical approach of the Thai Forest tradition. Encounters with teachers such as Luang Phor Jumnian Silasettho strengthened his interest in what can actually be experienced and tested for oneself: what settles the mind, what reduces suffering, and what helps practice become part of everyday life.
In the 12-day retreat, Tobi guides both 5-day retreat periods and helps participants prepare for the self-guided integration weekend in between. His teaching is practical, warm and direct, with an emphasis on learning not only how to meditate within a structured retreat, but also how to continue independently when that structure falls away.

Practice, Integrate, Return
The 12-day retreat combines two periods of structured practice with a self-guided weekend in between.
The weekend is an important part of the journey: a chance to continue independently, rest, reflect and see how well the retreat structure carries into your own time. You’ll receive guidance and materials to help shape those days, while still having plenty of space to relax or explore Phuket.
On Monday evening, the second retreat begins with fresh energy and a return to guided practice.
FOOD & WELLBEING
Meals
Meals are kept simple and supportive throughout the retreat. Each 5-day retreat begins with a shared Welcome Dinner, followed by breakfast and lunch on the guided retreat days.
Meals During the Retreat
Breakfast + Lunch · Light Evenings
Breakfast and lunch are included on retreat days, while the evenings are kept light to support rest, stillness and meditation. During the integration weekend, meals are left open so you can follow your own plans.
We generally recommend vegetarian meals during the retreat, though meat is available on request.
Outside the Welcome Dinners, evening meals can be ordered separately at the restaurant.
YOGA & MOVEMENT
Yoga Sessions
Yoga supports the longer retreat by helping the body release tension, stay mobile and remain comfortable throughout both periods of meditation practice.
Supportive Yoga Practice
Mobility + Breath + Release
Sessions during both 5-day retreats focus on opening the body, settling physical restlessness and making seated practice feel easier and more sustainable.
No previous yoga experience is needed. The sessions are gentle, accessible and can be adapted to different bodies and experience levels.
During the integration weekend, there are no scheduled yoga classes, leaving space for your own movement, stretching or rest.
QUESTIONS
Before You Book
A few practical things to know before you book.
Is the 12-day retreat suitable for beginners?
Yes. The 12-day retreat is suitable for beginners, even if you have little or no previous meditation experience. The practice develops gradually across two guided retreat periods, with plenty of personal guidance and a self-guided weekend in between to help things settle.
More experienced meditators are equally welcome and often appreciate the additional time to deepen their practice, work more independently and return to the second retreat with greater familiarity and confidence.
The retreat may be less suitable if you are specifically looking for a highly austere, fully silent or solitary environment. The program includes guidance, group interaction, excursions and personal reflection alongside meditation practice.
What is included in the retreat fee?
The fee includes both 5-day retreat programs, meditation instruction and personal guidance, yoga sessions on retreat days, breakfast and lunch during the guided retreat periods, two Welcome Dinners, excursions, retreat materials and the self-guided integration weekend materials.
Accommodation is booked separately. Meals and yoga during the integration weekend are not included.
How does the integration weekend work?
From Friday after breakfast until Monday at 17:00, the structured retreat program pauses. You’ll receive guidance, practice materials and a suggested personal schedule to help you continue independently.
The weekend is designed for reflection, self-guided practice and learning how to create your own supportive structure. There is also plenty of space to relax, explore Phuket or simply enjoy your own time.
Where should I stay?
For the full 12-day journey, staying at Coco Retreat Resort & Spa is the most convenient option. You can settle in once and remain close to the retreat throughout both guided periods and the weekend in between.
If you prefer to stay elsewhere, choose somewhere nearby so returning to the retreat remains easy and you are not adding unnecessary travel to the experience.
Accommodation is booked separately and is not included in the retreat fee.
Is this a silent retreat?
No. The retreat is not conducted in strict silence. Quiet is encouraged as a support for meditation, but you can decide how much silence feels helpful for you.
You might choose a few quiet hours, a full day, or longer periods. We provide a simple silence card you can use whenever you prefer not to be approached, making it easy to create more space for yourself while still remaining part of the group.
During the integration weekend, there is no formal silence structure, so you can shape those days in the way that best supports your own practice and reflection.
Is this a religious retreat?
No. The retreat draws on contemplative traditions, but it is taught in a practical and experiential way rather than as a religious program.
Tobi’s background includes both Tibetan Buddhist and Thai Forest traditions, yet the emphasis throughout the 12 days is on meditation, understanding the mind and learning through direct experience.
No particular belief or religious background is expected. You are encouraged to test the practices for yourself and keep what genuinely helps you become more settled, clear and free from unnecessary suffering.
What if I can’t sit cross-legged or have limited mobility?
You are not expected to sit cross-legged. Chairs are always available for meditation, and you can use whichever position allows you to sit comfortably and steadily.
If walking or uneven outdoor terrain may be difficult for you, please contact us before booking. The retreat includes outdoor excursions and movement between different practice settings, so we can talk through the details and help you decide whether the full 12-day program will work well for you.
What should I bring?
You won’t need anything specialized. Pack for comfort, warm weather and a longer stay:
- Light, comfortable clothing for meditation, yoga and everyday retreat activities
- A hat and sunscreen for excursions and time outdoors
- Light rain protection for changing tropical weather
- A notebook and pen for teachings, reflections and your integration weekend
- Mosquito repellent for outdoor sessions and evenings
During the integration weekend, you may also want comfortable clothes and a small day bag if you plan to explore Phuket.
Can I attend just one of the two 5-day retreats?
Yes. Both 5-day retreats are complete programs and can be attended separately. The 12-day retreat brings them together with a self-guided integration weekend in between for a longer, more continuous experience.
If you prefer a shorter stay, you can explore our 5-Day Meditation Retreats in Phuket instead.
