Welcome to your first steps on this amazing journey leading within. On this page we will help you to prepare for your upcoming retreat with us. Please keep in mind that most of what is listed here is optional. You can come completely unprepared on the level of the intellect and still benefit greatly. Sometimes it’s even better if you come with an empty mind, without expectations and an open heart. But if you like to get an idea of what we are doing here you can have a look through this page.

Reading Material

Here we present our top three books. These are the three best books to give you an idea of the teachings and the style of our retreat. Having read them you’ll be super comfortable with the content presented at the retreat. If you are a complete beginner and only have time to read one of them, go with “A New Earth” or “The Power of Now” by Eckart Tolle. If you are a bit more experienced, I recommend “Mindfulness, Bliss and Beyond” by Ajahn Brahm.

PLEASE NOTE: You don’t have to get these books – it’s not necessary to read or buy them before the retreat. You can come completely unprepared – and sometimes that’s even better as you’ll be more open. You can get the books after the retreat as well. During the retreat itself we don’t recommend you to read books anyways – except for our little “Handbook of Mindtraining” which we hand out during the retreats.

“Mindfulness, Bliss and Beyond – A Meditator’s Handbook” by Ajahn Brahm is our top pick and we highly recommend it. It is completely aligned with our practice and a very useful handbook on the path.

Sound Of Silence - By Ajahn Sumedho

“The Sound of Silence” is a collection of Teachings from Ajahn Sumedho. This book is written in a highly practical way and introduces the reader to the truth of the “way it is”. It’s a wonderful read for any meditator.

Eckart Tolle

New Earth - By Eckart Tolle

“A new Earth” and “The Power of Now” are both very nice books that introduce you to the power of the present moment. Eckart Tolle has a wonderful ability to point his audience into a direct perception of truth.
